Location Shoot

Location shoots are often one of the most exciting parts of the job for photographers, and can make for some of the best work. I approach a location shoot in the same way that I would any other shoot: by talking with the client about their vision for the shoot and seeing if there are any specific locations they want to use in their photos. Next, I send out a location questionnaire to see what other ideas they have or if they have any recommendations of locations they’ve seen before which they think might be good to shoot at. It usually takes me around 3 days to find a suitable site and plan out logistics such as travel time and parking fees. Once all that’s figured out we can meet up at the location a few days before our “official” shoot day so that we can check it out ourselves before anyone else starts setting up lights or moving furniture!
